As always at the start of an academic year, the first week has been one of much activity and organisation. I have also been to Madrid to attend our first Board meeting of the year and, of course, to sing the praises of all our amazing Year 11s and 13s from the last academic year, who all achieved truly amazing results!
I know I wrote to you all earlier this week and so I will keep this message brief!
Please can I remind parents to ensure their child is wearing the correct uniform to school; this includes shoes. Please visit our website Here for further details. Many thanks.
Thank you to all those parents that have been attending our class presentations. I trust you have found them informative. For those of you unable to attend, please remember that all class presentations will be available on our website shortly.
New Football Pitch
A considerable amount of work has been undertaken during the holidays around the school, some of which is ongoing and will be completed by the end of this month. I am sorry if there has been some confusion regarding the use of the football pitch….
Due to the new material from which it is made, our children will need to wear appropriate footwear when playing on the new pitch. We have been advised that this needs to be either trainers or molded stud football boots. This means that children wearing school shoes will not be allowed on the new pitch. Also, we are limiting the use of the new football pitch in order to limit wear-and-tear and it is unlikely to be used as a general playground (‘patio’).
For this reason, and in order to create more play space, we have also built a new play area (‘patio’) next to the pitch for general use. The children may wear their usual footwear on this surface.

Congratulations to our London College of Music examinees who achieved success in the exams last term – certificates are on their way.
Also well done to our four representatives for the U17 Spanish Cricket team (Charlie H., Rupert J., Theo R. and Charlie R.) who took part in the World Cup qualifiers in July in August. Sadly, Spain did not qualify, but it was great to see the Spanish flag flying at the tournament.
We also say farewell to Maria Baños, our school secretary, who has been with us for these last 3 years. I am sure you will join me in wishing her all the very best in her new adventure in Madrid. At the same time we say hello to Isabel Sanchez, whom many of you have seen at the front desk already. She will be taking over all of Maria´s duties.
Have a great weekend.
