Dear Parents,

To paraphrase sports-commentators, it has been ‘a week of two halves’. In the first half of the week, we entertained a team of inspectors from PENTA International (as I described in last week’s letter) and enjoyed a fantastic assembly by Year 2. In the second half, our Year 11s and 12s went to a University Fair held in Murcia as part of our careers development programme.

Just a further reminder that we will be changing to winter uniform as of Monday 5th November. Please can you make sure that your child has the appropriate attire. If you are unsure, please do refer to our website here:

I would like to gently remind you that the school blazer is compulsory for both boys and girls from Year 7 upwards and should be worn on a daily basis.  Also coats need to be Navy blue.

The inspection went very well and the inspectors asked me to convey their most sincere thanks to the parents that took the time to come and speak with them. We will receive the first draft of the report in a few weeks’ time. We will then look to finalise and translate the final version, mostly likely in December – although we hope it will be before then!

This week we say ‘Farewell’ to Mr McFarlane, who has been covering Mrs Green’s maternity leave, but was only available until the end of this week. We have now recruited Mr Power, who will be joining us until Mrs Green’s return and will start, provided all the paperwork is completed (see last week), on Monday 29th October.

Mrs Moss will be leaving us for a little while on compassionate leave and will be replaced by Mr Bland, who is arriving from the UK in the latter part of next week.

Unfortunately Sra. Balsalobre is away for a few weeks and we are currently in the process of recruiting a temporary replacement, until she returns. The Spanish Department will be writing to you shortly regarding the arrangements for teaching in her absence.

As we do every year, we will be selling poppies in aid of the Royal British Legion. These are available for purchase now at the front desk. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of hostilities in the First World War. As always we will be having an assembly to commemorate this event.

As a slight change we will be publishing the mid-term reports on Thursday 8th November. This is in order to enable us to have the opportunity to demonstrate and explain the new layout which is being used throughout the entire Group.

Our termly Music recitals will be starting again soon, which is a chance for our young musicians to perform in front of an audience and showcase their growing talents. The next recital will be in the afternoon of Thursday 8th November, as per the calendar.

Well done to all our Netballers who took part in the competition at La Manga last week. I know they all had a fantastic time, especially receiving coaching from the England Captain, Ama Agbeze! You can read the full article on our website here.

Next week we enjoy a short week and so this will be my last letter to you for a couple of weeks.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Mr Rumistrzewicz
