Dear Parents,

Sadly, due to the inclement weather we had to postpone our annual whole-school photo. We will look at the calendar again to find a suitable date. Despite the rain, representatives from all the houses in Key Stage 2 took part in the Interhouse Football competition this week. With the competition being so close, Mr Ryland has decided to extend it for another week and create a league, so watch out for the article next week … Who will win this year’s trophy?

Today we celebrated our differences with ‘Odd Sock day’, which was a fitting end to our annual Anti-bullying Week. The week began with an assembly on Monday, marking the start of our focus on this and on how we should understand and celebrate each other’s differences.

Thank you to those parents who attended our Charity Group meeting on Wednesday. There are a number of events coming up in a few weeks and we are looking to raise funds for local charities. If you are still interested in joining us, please do contact either my PA, Mrs Stevenson at or Mr Green at

Thanks also to the parents who attended the Coffee afternoon, which proved to be extremely informative regarding the ‘new style’ of reports, which are being introduced group-wide.

Having received numerous applications and undertaken subsequent interviews, I am very happy to say that we have found a temporary replacement teacher for Sra Balsalobre. We are expecting this teacher to start next week, once all our pre-employment checks are complete.  As you know, Sra Balsalobre was to be away initially only a short while, but unfortunately has had to extend her ‘baja’. Of course, we wish her well and trust that she will return to us soon.

I know we have sent letters to you all in the past regarding attendance and its importance in terms of your child’s development and progress in school. As a ‘drive’ across the group, King’s have introduced a new Attendance Policy, of which we would like to make you aware. You can now find it on our website here.

I would like to thank those parents that came in last week to sample our food and to discuss issues with Álvaro, the representative from Nexalia. There will be a further opportunity for parents to taste the lunches, so please let us know if you would like to attend a future lunch.  I know that Nexalia have found the feedback from parents extremely useful. To this end they have now set up a specific email address to receive your comments and suggestions. Please send these to  Many thanks.

A relatively quiet week next week…though Monday marks the start of Key Stage 3 Interhouse Football. Then….

Tues 27th Nov Y11 Mock exams begin
Wed 28th Nov  Y11-13 visit University Fair at King´s College Alicante

Today, a few of our 6th Formers travelled to Madrid to attend the annual Student Leadership weekend.

Next week, I will be away in the UK for board meetings with the AoBSO and for the annual conference. I will be joined, for part of the week, by Mr Snowden. In our absence, I will be leaving the school in my Leadership Team’s  capable hands.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Mr Rumistrzewicz
