At the end of this penultimate week of the academic year it gives me great pleasure, as always, to celebrate our pupils’ achievements – see you at Prizegiving! However, before we see each other at this event next week, one person in particular needs a mention at this time…
Samuel D. has always been a real credit to our school for a number of reasons. Even so, being accepted to study Medicine at the Universidad de Navarra is far and away an amazing achievement, as this university ranks third on the top Spanish universities list for Medicine (ElPaís). I am sure you will all join me in congratulating Samuel on this great achievement.
On another note, congratulations also to Alberto R. who has just been crowned Regional Champion in athletics for the 60m and 500m. Well done!
A few notices…
After three years with us, Mr Davidson will be leaving at the end of the academic year to go further up the coast to Barcelona! Dr Jennifer O’Brien will be his replacement teaching Physics and general Science from September. Dr O’Brien has a Doctorate in Astrophysics and has been teaching in Newton College (just up the road!). She is very much looking forward to joining the King’s family and working with your children.
I am also happy to announce that we have recruited Mr Stephen Hope as our new ICT teacher for September, who hails from Newcastle and worked with Year 7 last week. In Primary, Miss Danielle Campbell will be joining us too for September.
Furthermore, we welcome back Sra Ibañez (Maije) after her long absence.
I am sure you will all join me in welcoming our new staff at the start of the next academic year.
End of Term
Apologies if there has been some confusion with respect to the end of term schedule, particularly as the last day is a Monday which is a Report Feedback Day.
The last day for children (and normal lessons) will be Friday 22nd June. Reports will be published that day. Monday will be our official Report Feedback Day, when parents can come in to speak to teachers between 9.30-12.30 and 13.30-15.00 regarding their child’s progress. Thus it will mark the end of the academic year.
GDPR – URGENT
Again, if you have already completed your authorisation for the new GDPR then please ignore this. For those that have not completed this form, can you please complete and return it to the school as soon as possible. If it has been misplaced then please do contact reception by phone 968 032 500, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or drop in at the beginning or end of the day and we will be happy to supply a new one.
