On Tuesday the 3rd of October, King’s College Murcia hosted the first Secondary inter-school swimming gala at San Javier Polideportivo. We welcomed our sister school KC Alicante, along with Newton College, Phoenix College and Lady Elizabeth.

We were blessed with a perfect sunny day making the outdoor pool a delight for the students. There was a full program of events for years 7-11 including freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke. For the elite swimmers, there was the medley event including all four strokes.

We had some great successes from KCM in the individual events including Brodie S. with 2 medals, Isabella F. with one medal, and top 3 finishes for Grace F., Jason DC and many others.

The most exciting time is always the relays, and we were very lucky to see our strong Year 8 Girls team take their race, with the Year 9 Girls team also clocking a very fast time.

It was a great day for the students and it is encouraging to see our inter-school program expanding in both number of competing schools, and the range of events. The KC Murcia students, as always, were a credit to the school.

Well done and thank you to all who took part.
