As this week comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that my time here at KCM has also come to a close.
Mrs Akyurek and I have been working together very closely over these last weeks and she and I have worked to ensure that the transfer is as smooth as possible. I am very excited about my new role in Malaga, but I am also sad to say goodbye to the school I have watched grow into such a special place over all these years. However, I feel that now is the best time to do so and to enable my friend, Dawn, to lead the school to even greater heights in the years to come. I know the school is in very capable and experienced hands.
So I leave the school with many fond memories of Christmas Fayres, Music Festivals, Sports Days, trips, lessons and of course, the wonderful children (and parents too!!). I am sure that the students in Malaga have a lot to live up to. Today, rather than hold an assembly online with the pupils, I visited classrooms to say my farewells in person and it is a great shame that due to the COVID restrictions I will be unable to say my farewells to you all personally too. Nevertheless, I just want to say thank you for everything and for your trust in my leadership of the school over the last 10 years.
Now a few notices….
The pandemic is very much on the forefront of everyone’s minds and we here at KCM are very mindful of the importance of following procedures and protocols, particularly with the increase in cases in our region and, indeed, within the school. So, please, a reminder from the protocols we issued to all parents a few months ago…
“Any person (student or staff) who attends school and is aware that someone in their household has been in direct contact (directly exposed, without mask or other protection) with someone with COVID-19 in the past 10 days, must inform the school to assess the situation and define next steps – please inform the school if you are in this group; “
Last week, I introduced Cristian Sosa to you all as our Head of Admissions in Carlos’ absence. Shortly, some of you may be receiving from him a re-enrolment reminder for the academic year 2021-2022. To ensure that your child has a place, please remember to complete the form at (https://bit.ly/35qY5Lv) as soon as possible and preferably before 31st January. As ever, if you have any questions regarding admissions, then please do contact Cristian directly at email@example.com.
Thank you all for all your kindness and support over all these years as we have watched together many of your children grow on their learning journeys into fine young adults they are now in the 6th Form. Take care of yourselves during this difficult time, stay safe and I will be in touch…but next time it will be as a fellow parent, perhaps on the WhatsApp groups 😉
All my love,
