This week I had the great pleasure of meeting with our Head Girl and Head Boy, Carmen and Joaquin. Both have been with us for a number of years and it was a privilege to share some time with them and to discuss school related issues. The two of them will be liaising closely with the leadership team and the school council, as we continue to navigate our way through the sometimes murky waters of COVID regulations and restrictions.
Also this week, I had the opportunity to view a number of lessons and to see how hybrid learning was integrated within our pedagogy as well as seeing the social distancing within the classrooms themselves. Unlike during lockdown, when our team was fully focused on providing lessons online, the fact that our teachers are now providing both online and in-class learning opportunities at the same time was fascinating to behold. Many of you have expressed your thanks for the lengths our teachers have gone to providing this opportunity for all our learners. As the only British curriculum school in our region to be providing hybrid teaching, it made me very proud to see this in action for myself. We will continue to ensure that all our learners will have the best opportunity to make progress, whether in school or not, by monitoring both our in-class and online provision.
As always, a few notices…..
Given the increasing number of COVID cases within our region, please can I remind you of our protocols that were shared with you COVID Operating Guidelines . If your child is unwell, has a high temperature or any other symptoms of illness, please do not bring them to school and keep them at home and symptoms subside. If they do have any COVID related symptoms, please ensure they have a PCR test (and results) before their return. Many thanks for your help and understanding in this matter.
We are no longer able to hold on to lost property. Please can you ensure that your child’s clothing and any other items are clearly labelled, so that they can be returned easily. Many thanks.
I trust you have found this week’s KS4 presentation informative and have enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions online during the Q&A session. Next week will be the turn of KS5 (6th Form). We look forward to seeing you there.
This is just a reminder that the school shop will be closed from today until Tuesday 13th October. After which time the usual appointment system will continue. Many thanks for your understanding in this matter.
Wed 30th Sept Key Stage 5 Parental Presentation and Questions 16:45 – 18:00
Please take care of yourselves. With the return to school also comes the inevitable return of colds and snivels – even when wearing masks! Have a good rest this weekend and see you all again on Monday.
