Dear Parents,

After such a long absence it has very much been our pleasure to welcome you all back to our happy school. I spent much of yesterday speaking to you all and your children, of course. I must say it was truly moving to see so many happy faces on Wednesday, whether they were here in school or online. Of course our hybrid model will continue to build on the excellent provision we established last term, but we do anticipate that more will return to be present in the classroom with their friends. In that regard, I should also give a special mention to our wonderful pupils who have all endeavoured to follow the new protocols diligently, as we navigate these challenging times. They have been brilliant!

Also, as I mentioned in my letters a few weeks ago, our older students enjoyed incredible exam success, with the best results in our school’s history and, indeed, the best public examination results in the region. Our congratulations must go to them and to their efforts during the lockdown. This year’s results are a true testament to the resilience of our pupils and to the calibre of teaching we have here at KCM. So, ‘well done’ to you to all and our very best wishes for the future, whether moving into Year 12 going on to pastures new, at college or University.

This last month, we spent a great deal of time preparing for the return of our pupils, ensuring all Murcian government guidelines were followed to the letter and that the environment was safe and secure. This, as I know you appreciate, has been a huge challenge, but the team has risen to the task and we were able to open as scheduled on Wednesday. Your children will have noticed the increased number of signs and markings on the floor, seating plans and so on. But also, they will have noticed the developments in the PE Hall with its lovely new flooring, something I know Mr Ryland is very happy about.

A few notices….

…AND FINALLY

After so many months, I should also give a special mention to you, our parents. It really has been a pleasure to see you when I have been on duty in the mornings and after school. Thank you for your diligence in following our guidelines and also for your patience when the guidelines have changed! We truly are a family here at KCM and I am very proud of how we have all pulled together as one!

Have a great weekend and see you again on Monday.
