Dear Parents,

Welcome back to our final term of the year. With the recent agreed continuation of the lockdown until 9th May, at the earliest, it is a great shame that I have to greet you without having had the opportunity to see you all in person for so long. I am pleased though that we have some relief for our younger children at last, with the partial lifting of restrictions from Sunday and the opportunity for children to leave their homes, albeit not too far from them. I know it has been particularly difficult for our pupils living in apartments all these weeks, so these changes are welcome. Even so, at the risk of ‘teaching grandmother to suck eggs’, please be careful when going outside and do remind your child of the social distancing restrictions. Please see the attached documents for further guidance. Here

This week we have welcomed back Sra Balsalobre from her maternity leave. Although a peculiar return, given the current situation, Sra Balsalobre is very happy to be ‘back’ and seeing her pupils once again.

As I have mentioned previously, we very much value parental feedback as we continue to develop our eKCM provision. Your children have been completing school surveys regularly throughout this period. The other day, you will have received a link to the Inspired Parental Survey. Please take a few moments to complete it, if you haven’t done so already – it is very short. You will need to complete one for each of your children. Your children (Yr 5 upwards) have also completed a survey for Inspired this week. These surveys are aimed at group level and will form feedback from across the entire global network of Inspired Schools.

Our Heads of Department and Heads of Section have all been taking part in Learning Walks over these last weeks, dropping in to lessons and monitoring pupil progress. I too have had the opportunity to observe lessons and have been very pleased with the engagement of all our pupils during this difficult time. Well done to them and, indeed, to you for all your support in helping your child transition to this new way of learning.

As you know, we take the wellbeing of all of our community very seriously. Our counsellor, Elena, has been working to develop a new way of reaching out to everyone in our community. Below are links to two Youtube videos (one in English the other in Spanish) in which she explains the services she is continuing to provide and will be providing for the future. Please do take a few minutes to watch them.  ENGLISH SPANISH

A reminder that next week is a short week as we enjoy a Public Holiday on 1st May, Friday.

Take care of yourselves and I hope your younger children enjoy a walk in the sun.

Best wishes,

Mr Rumistrzewicz
