Dear Parents,

On this (unusually) penultimate day of the month, we look back on yet another busy week at KCM…

We began the week with our annual carnival parade on Tuesday. As ever, our younger students were dressed in all their finery, as indeed, were their teachers. Their dance moves were amazing and they were ably cheered on by our fantastic Year 8 percussionists (the whole year group!) in our Samba Band.

The week has ended with our annual staff training day, or INSET as it is referred to by teachers. During this day, staff have undertaken ‘refresher’ training in the use of various software, as well as an interesting afternoon session with Mr and Mrs Thomas looking at different personalities and behaviours.

A short letter this week….

New Ingress and Egress procedures in the Infants block

As mentioned a short while ago, you will have received a letter regarding a trial change of ingress and egress procedures for the Infants block. Of course, there are few changes to the rest of the school. Even so, we would like to trial this for the following month to see how it works and to receive your feedback at the end of the trial, especially from parents in the Infants block.

WORLD BOOK DAY

Don’t forget that next week is World Book day, which we will commemorate on Friday 6th March. All pupils from Y3 upwards can dress up as their favourite literary character (no football shirts, please). There will be competitions during the day, reading to EYFS and Primary pupils and a special assembly during Enrichment Week, the following week.

ENROLMENT PERIOD – SIBLINGS

Please do remember that if you wish to enrol another member of your family as a new pupil for the next academic year and have not already contacted the school, please do so as soon as possible at carlos.campos@kingsgroup.org. Mr Carlos Campos will give you all the information and assistance you may need.

GDPR – AUDIOVISUAL CONSENT

A reminder that we still have a number of parents who have not completed our annual audiovisual consent form for this academic year 2019-2020.  Without this permission, we are not allowed to post our fantastic sports and music events, on our social media. If you would like to give your consent, please complete the google form as soon as possible by clicking here (if you have not already done so).

WATER BOTTLES

A reminder please to ensure your child comes to school with their own water bottle every day.  This is especially important in our effort to reduce the usage of plastic cups in the school. We will be issuing KS2 pupils with their own cups soon in our continued effort to reduce plastic waste.

…AND FINALLY

I hope you enjoy the long weekend and have a good rest. We will be keeping a careful eye on the developments with regard to the Coronavirus outbreak, so please do look out for emails from us should things escalate – this is particularly pertinent to any school trips.

Have a great weekend and see you on Tuesday.
