Throughout this week, we have been continuing to collect items for those in need in our local area and thank you again for your generosity in this. I visited Los Alcazares only a few days ago and though the recovery has been remarkable, the damage caused by the flooding a few weeks ago is still all too evident.
This week we have enjoyed our Primary Maths workshop with Mrs Cassidy as well as our older GCSE Geography pupils undertaking their field trip. Year 3 were also away yesterday in El Valle, while the rest of us revelled in the delights of poetry during National Poetry Day, with its accompanying book fair.
Mr Fossey very much enjoyed his visit over the last few days, meeting staff and touring the school. This is not his first visit to KCM, but it was his first in his current advisory role as Chief Academic Officer of the Group. He is already looking forward to his return.
As always, a few notices….
Before school care
A reminder that if your child arrives at school before 9am, we will be assuming that they are joining the ‘Before School Care’ system we have in place at KCM. As you know, this incurs a charge which will be added to your bill. If you are unsure, or would like to know more about this service, then please do contact Francisca Jiménez at firstname.lastname@example.org. Many thanks.
As you know, due to the school closure we had to postpone our annual ‘World Peace Day’ celebration. This will become a charity fundraising concert for the flood victims, to be held on Friday 25th October at 3pm. Our children have been practising their songs and don’t worry, you will still get your chance to join in too!
We would also like to hold a raffle, if possible, on that day and are looking for donations. If anyone is interested in donating any items for the raffle please could they contact reception as soon as possible. Many thanks and we look forward to seeing many of you there.
Sadly, we will be saying ‘Farewell’ to Mr Morter-Laing who is returning to the UK for family reasons and also to assume the role of Assistant Head at CAMS. Mr Morter-Laing has made a huge contribution to the school over the last few years, particularly in the Secondary department. We wish him all the very best for the future. There will be some timetable rearrangements as well as changes in positions of responsibility within the Secondary department. We will advise you of these changes in more detail next week. Many thanks in advance for your understanding in this matter.
A number of presentations and coffee mornings/afternoons will be happening in the coming weeks. Although our website calendar has been fixed, we are still finding one or two anomalies so please do look out for emails from us, just in case, and apologies in advance.
