Dear Parents,

As the month of May draws to a close this week, so does the hiatus in the public examinations for our Y11-13 students. At the other end of the school, as well as all their class work, the children in Key Stage 1 have enjoyed a lovely trip to El Almendrico. Do look out for the article on our website.

This weekend sees the beginning of June and the final month of the academic year, when we will have the opportunity to celebrate the many successes of our pupils here at KCM in the final weeks of term. Also, we will look forward to the Swimming Galas starting next week, our inter school Padel tournament, ‘Moving Up’ days and graduation!

As always a few notices….

Just a final reminder that if you have not yet had the opportunity, please do complete the parent survey as soon as possible. We would very much appreciate your feedback. Many thanks.

Many thanks to all those parents who attended the recent meeting with our representative from Nexalia regarding our lunchtime provision. Alvaro mentioned that he felt it was an extremely positive and constructive meeting and the feedback he received was extremely valuable.

SUMMER SCHOOL – from Mr McIntyre

A further reminder that we have a range of courses on offer in July again this year at our summer school, including a new course for Science in English for pupils aged 8-15, as well as the courses we started last year for Art and Photography in English and Robotics in English. We have something for most age groups, so please do go to our website where you will find the ‘Summer School’ tab at the top.  Please don’t hesitate to contact our administration team or me at the email addresses below with any further questions once you have had a look through.

I can now confirm the term dates I mentioned in my previous letter and next year’s term dates will appear shortly on our website. Many thanks, once again, for your patience in this.

‘Traceus’ is an extremely useful ‘app’ for locating buses and communicating with parents and so on. If your child uses the bus and you have not done so already, please contact reception to organise details on how to utilise this app from your mobile phone. Many thanks.

A reminder that the school shop will be closed for a week, from Mon 17th to Fri 21st June. It will re-open as normal the following week.

You will be pleased to know that we have appointed a school counsellor, who will be on site full time from September. This is a very exciting development as we continue to look after the mental wellbeing of all of our children and prepare them for life in the outside world. Our new counsellor, Helena, will be visiting the school next week and meeting with relevant staff, before she takes up post in the next academic year.
