Dear Parents,

The final week of what has been a long Winter term has come to an end with an amazing climax, The Interhouse Singing Competition. At the time of writing, I do not yet know the outcome, but I do know that the competition will be fierce and all the participants will have given everything they had. Please do look out for the report on our website. Also today, we celebrated our Easter Fayre, raising money for both the future Music festival and for Project Lombok (mentioned last week). In fact a number of events have taken place these last couple of weeks which you can read about, from our Duke of Edinburgh expeditions with older pupils, to the EYFS Sports Day with our smallest!

This week we also welcomed visitors from Cambridge English who examined our older candidates in their English skills. We don’t know the results yet, but I am sure they will have done extremely well. Meanwhile, our artists were busy with their public examinations having already begun their exam period.

Just a few things…

In our efforts to reduce plastic usage and, indeed, waste please could you remind your child to bring in their water bottle, especially with the onset of the hot weather. We will no longer be handing out the disposable plastic cups for drinking. Many thanks.

I would like to thank all the parents who attended Mrs Cassidy’s Maths workshop on Wednesday. I am sure you all found it very informative – especially with the excellent teaching skills demonstrated by the KS1 children! The presentation materials will be available shortly on our website in both English and Spanish.

A reminder regarding the access to the iSams Parent Portal and reports. There are two ways to access the reports. You can visit the website scroll to the bottom and choose “Parent Portal”. You will need to then type your username (which will be your registered email address) and your password. If your password doesn’t work, please click “Forgotten my password” and follow the instructions in the email you will then receive.

The second option is to download the iParent app. Visit your app store and search for iParent and download it. The school code is KCSM . From here you will find all our communications, student reports, timetable information for Secondary students, workshop files and soon also the school calendar.

Please can I remind parents to ensure your child brings to school a ‘healthy’ snack. Recently, we have seen pupils bring in sweets and chocolate bars! Many thanks for your help in this matter.
