Dear Parents,

This week members of our EYFS team have been telling stories at some of our partner Nurseries – as well as here at KCM, of course!

The Primary Interhouse Chess tournament has come to a dramatic conclusion. Please do see Nicholas’ and Maria’s excellent article here. The new format of the competition has certainly worked extremely well and I am sure we will be repeating it in the years to come.

At the other end of the school, our older pupils have been undertaking their final mock examinations, before the ‘real thing’ in a couple of months’ time. Some of our younger secondary pupils have been involved in a match against Phoenix School and teachers have been reviewing marking and moderation procedures, as well as our ‘homework’ procedures in Primary.

A  few things this week….

As always, this year’s road race will be in support of a charity. This year’s charity will be AFACMUR. They are a charity based in Murcia that was set up by parents and it is there to support families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer. They offer many types of support, psychological, social and financial support and they are based out of the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca. This charity was chosen as it is local and a children’s charity. If you wish to donate, please do place some money in the box when it appears in reception next week. There is also a donation link on the website.

But of course, the best way will be to help your child gain as much sponsorship as possible!

As this term is somewhat longer than usual, we will be switching to ‘Summer Uniform’ before the final term. Therefore, summer uniform will begin on Monday 1st April.

A further reminder from our Admissions department that if you have any friends, relatives or acquaintances with children aged 2-5 who may be interested in our school, please spread the word about the Open Morning in Early Years that we will be holding on Friday 29th March from 09.30 to 12.30. Thank you for your support.

Just a reminder that you should have received an email from Mr McIntyre regarding our Summer School and some courses we are looking to introduce, if there is enough interest. Please do look out for it and respond to Mr McIntyre as soon as possible.

After the success of this week’s Tuck Shop, we will be continuing to run it every Tuesday. Of course, school is closed next Tuesday. However, Tuck Shop will return on Tuesday 26th March.
