Dear Parents,

This week has seen the start of our first Interhouse competition, Secondary Basketball – a sport very much growing in popularity amongst our pupils, with a visit from UCAM coming soon! Also, we have enjoyed the auditions for the annual King’s College Variety Show. There will be some fantastic acts performing next week, so watch this space!

A few things….

A-LEVEL OPTIONS PRESENTATION & Year 9

A reminder from last week’s letter…. Every year, we give a presentation regarding this important decision-making step. The presentation will take place on Monday 28th January and will be repeated the following day during Coffee Morning. We recommend that all Year 11 parents attend, though it may also be of interest to those in Year 10.

Also, on Thursday we have the Year 9 Parents’ Evening, which include the Options Launch for GCSEs. We highly recommend parents attend this, so as to gain a better understanding of how the system works. Many thanks.

CAREERS ADVICE FOR YEARS 9,10 AND 11

A reminder that during Enrichment Week (4th Feb to 8th Feb) this year, we would like to ask any parents if they would be willing to come in and speak about their careers to Years 9 to 11 .

If you are interested, please could you contact Dr Browne via email at: joanna.browne@kings.education. Many thanks in advance for your help.

KING’S GROUP 50th ANNIVERSARY

Preparations are accelerating for the commemoration of the Group’s 50th anniversary. We will be publishing the course of events on social media soon and, of course, during the day of the burying of the time capsule in 2 weeks’ time.

OPEN DAY

Thank you to all of you who ‘spread the word’ regarding our Open Day today. Both Carlos and I have been visiting nurseries, with whom we have collaboration agreements, throughout this week also. The feedback from our visitors has been very positive, so many thanks.

UNIFORM SHOP

Please note the Uniform Shop will be closed on Monday 28 January.

…AND FINALLY

Huge congratulations to Brodie S., who has been selected for the National Swimming Championships to be held in Gijon in March. A fantastic achievement and a testament to her resilience and tenacity – well done, Brodie.

I will be away in Madrid for the latter part of next week, attending our regular Board meetings, the Scholars’ Dinner and also undertaking some training with my fellow King’s Heads. As always, I will be leaving the school in Mr Snowden’s very capable hands.

Enjoy a good rest and see you again on Monday – a busy week ahead!

With my best wishes,

Mr Rumistrzewicz
